OUR STORY
Hi, I’m Abe Philipson, owner and operator of Fix It Heroes Handyman Service by Timber Tactics & Design LLC, based in San Antonio, Florida—a small town west of Dade City in Pasco County.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved building, fixing, and figuring out how things work. Whether it was working with wood, repurposing interesting materials, or simply solving problems, I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands. I also have a deep love for the outdoors, which shaped much of my childhood and early adult life. But life took an exciting turn when I became a father at 19. I quickly learned that raising my beautiful daughter was my top priority, and I was determined to build a stable and meaningful career for my growing family.
A Career of Service and Dedication
In 2003, I joined the Florida Forest Service as a Wildland Firefighter, serving communities in their times of greatest need. Over nearly two decades, I traveled across Florida and the country, battling wildfires and experiencing the power of nature firsthand. One of my greatest honors was serving on the Florida Forest Service Honor Guard, where I had the privilege of paying tribute to fallen brothers and sisters and supporting their families. While firefighting was my calling for many years, I also pursued higher education, earning a graduate degree and transitioning into local government. However, after two years in an office, I realized how much I missed being outdoors and working hands-on.
A New (and Old) Adventure
With the unwavering support of my wife, son, and daughter, I made the bold decision to return to the work I love. During the summer months, I’ll be back on the front lines as a seasonal Wildland Firefighter. For the rest of the year, I’ll be offering my skills as a handyman and woodworker, providing quality, affordable services to my community. From minor repairs to custom woodworking projects, my mission is simple:
